In a statement, the EC said the election to fill up the vacancies will be held on January 19. The nomination process will start on January 2 with the issuance of notification and January 9 will be the last date to file papers.
The term of Hishey Lachungpa (Sikkim Democratic Front) ends on February 23 next year.
As per established practice, the polling will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the counting of votes will commence from 5 p.m.
