Agartala, October 2: In the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha in Agartala, a significant memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on Monday involving collaboration between the Assam Rifles, the National Integrity and Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO), and a private bank.
The objective if the MoU is to provide fully free residential coaching to exceptionally talented students from underprivileged backgrounds, particularly those from rural areas, after completing their class 12 education.
The coaching will prepare them for entrance exams in the fields of medicine and engineering.
The project aims to offer year-long, high-quality, and free residential education and coaching to 30 students from Tripura.
This initiative will be based at the Teliamura Garrison of the 21 Sector Assam Rifles.
The selection process for these students will commence this month for the year 2023.
During the event, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed his optimism about this project’s potential to help underprivileged students in gaining admission to prestigious medical and engineering colleges nationwide, thereby improving their opportunities for higher education.
It’s worth noting that the Assam Rifles has successfully implemented similar projects in Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh within the northeastern region.
