Agartala, September 29:Members of the CPIM youth organization took to the streets in Agartala on Friday, demanding employment opportunities and a drug-free Tripura.
Nabarun Deb, the state secretary of DYFI, voiced concerns about the lack of job opportunities for Indian youth under the BJP administration.
He pointed out that many had lost their jobs, and rural citizens were not finding sufficient employment through MGNREGA and so they are staged a protest against the BJP government, both at the state and central levels.
The rally commenced at Paradise Chowmhuni and went through the streets of Agartala, echoing the calls for employment opportunities and a drug-free state.
Meantime, Jitendra Chowdhury, the CPIM Tripura state secretary, highlighted the nationwide issue of unemployment affecting Tripura’s youth.
He also expressed concern about the widespread drug addiction problem in the state, which poses a significant threat to the younger generation.
In response, CPIM’s youth organizations, DYFI and the Tribal Youth Federation (TYF), organized protests across all districts of Tripura.
Their demands encompassed job opportunities and combating the drug addiction crisis.
Chowdhury said that these demands were not exclusive to DYFI or TYF but represented the collective voice of Tripura’s youth.
Chowdhury alleged that the BJP-led government, well aware of the situation, was allowing the drug issue to flourish, diverting attention away from its failures and adversely affecting future generations.
