Agartala July 31: Police of Belonia police station managed to seize a car with 235 bottles of phencidyl. According to the details of the incident, Belonia Sub-Divisional Police Officer and OC of the police station along with Inspector Sukanta Tripura while checking vehicles in Matai area on Sunday night signaled an Alto car number TR-08D-0487 to stop. But the car driver tried to flee towards Rishyamukh with the car.
The police immediately chased the car. After going to Devipur area, the driver of the car left the car and ran away. Later, the police took the Alto vehicle to Belonia police station from there. After being taken to the police station, the car was searched and 235 bottles of phencidyl were recovered. The market value of which will be more than one and a half lakh rupees. The OC of Belonia police station said that the police have started investigation of the incident after registering a case under specific clauses.
