Agartala: July 26: A plan was taken by the Department of Tourism to set up a Weekend Tourist Hub at the front site of State Museum Ujjayanta Palace in the capital Agartala for family vacation and entertainment of the general public including out-of-state tourists. It will be officially inaugurated soon. Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury presided over an important high-level meeting related to this weekend tourist hub in the presence of the honorable mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Deepak Majumder, along with the high-ranking officials of the administration, to review all kinds of preparations in this regard. In the meeting, the tourism minister informed the officials present about all the plans taken for the smooth execution and success of the inauguration ceremony and gave necessary instructions and suggestions after looking into the various issues related to it. Today’s meeting was attended among others, Tripura Government Tourism Department Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, Commissioner of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, Tripura DIG Monchak Yappa, Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited Managing Director Tapan Kumar Das, Information and Culture Department Director Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, West District Additional District Magistrate Rajeev Dutta, Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Arup Dev, West District Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar K, Traffic Police Superintendent Manik Das, Tripura State Electrical Corporation Limited General Manager (Technical) Harekrishna Das, Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited Joint-Officer Jayant Debbarma, Executive Bastuka Uttam Pal and other officials.
