Agartala, July 25: Police of Dharmanagar police station has succeeded in anti-drug operation. On the basis of information from secret sources, it was possible to recover 6 kg of dry ganja, 195 Yaba tablets, cash of 35 thousand taka, a bike and two mobile phones by searching a house late on Monday night. Two people have been arrested. A police official said that the accused will be handed over to the court on police remand this morning.
A police official said, intelligence sources have informed the police station that there is a large amount of drugs stored in Durgapur area of Dharmanagar. Accordingly, a raid was conducted at the house of Jamshed Ali, a resident of Ward No. 14 of Dharmanagar municipal council area on Monday late night. 6 kg of dry cannabis, 195 yaba tablets, cash of Rs 35 thousand, two mobiles along with a bike were recovered by searching the house. He said that two youths named Jamsed Ali and Babul Uddin were arrested and brought to the police station.
He also said that the police have registered a case against them under the NDPS section. He said that the police will ask for remand and hand it over to the court this morning.
