Agartala July 19: The state-wide forest festival has been postponed due to the untimely death of MLA Shamsul Haque from Buxnagar assembly constituency. State-wise forest festival was organized at BBI ground in Dharmanagar on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Sahar was supposed to inaugurate the Banamhotsav. Accordingly, the Chief Minister of the state, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, reached Dharmanagar as usual on Wednesday morning. But due to the untimely death of Buxnagar MLA Samsul Haque, all government functions were suspended. Therefore, despite reaching Dharmanagar, the Chief Minister did not go to the stage of the state-based Banamhotsav event. The state-based forest festival has been suspended for the time being.
