Agartala June 20: Acting on a tip-off, NCC police seized an auto with 45 kg of ganja on Monday night. A person was arrested at the same time. SDPO NCC Parmita Pandey said that on Monday night, the police of NCC police station received a tip-off that cannabis would be smuggled in an auto through Vivekananda’s residential area under NCC police station.
Accordingly, the police of NCC police station reached the area adjacent to Vivekananda residence. Later, when the auto left the Vivekananda residence and headed towards the litchi garden, the police intercepted the auto. 45 kg of dry cannabis was recovered from the auto. The auto driver was arrested at the same time. The arrested auto driver is Harendra Roy. His home is Baishali in Bihar. He also said people from the state may be connected with the arrested ganja smugglers. Therefore, the police of NCC police station investigating the incident by filing a case under specific clauses. He also said that the market value of recovered ganja will be approximately four and a half lakh rupees.
