In the recent time, with developing of infrastructure in Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh which bordering with China and Tibet, reverse migration towards the bordering villages have been noticed said Pasang Dorjee Sona, Speaker of Arunachal Pradesh legislative assembly adding that having villagers in the remote bordering villages is strategically more important for the national security than just having security personnels.
Sona, who is also the chairman of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Indian Region Zone III said this speaking to reporters in Agartala on Monday at the end of the executive committee meeting and during which Meghalaya capital Shillong has been selected as the venue of the next annual conference and is going to be held in the coming September.
Sona, a MLA of Arunachal Pradesh has been elected Mechukha assembly constituency under Shi-Yomi district, which is around 29km from McMahon Line that separates India from the Tibetan region of China said that a time was there when people of the bordering villages use to migrate in search of better developed area but now reverse migration has started as because of infrastructure development, connectivity and various facilities which are becoming available even in the far-flung bordering areas under PM Modi’s scheme like Vibrant Village Programme.
He said, “My constituency is bordering with Tibet, China. So the issues will always be there when it is a unfriendly border. But now as we always say that the country under the leadership of honourable Prime Minister is doing lot of developmental activities at the border. Earlier the borders were neglected for a long time, so for want of basic infrastructure and facilities like health care and education people use to migrate from the border. So when the border is vacant, obviously there will be incursion. Now that the vibrant village programme is coming up lot of impetus is being given on road connectivity, telecom connectivity, digital connectivity, the people are now going back to the border. So I say that the local people are more strategic for the nation security, you have to have the local people staying in the border.”
“ They will be more strategic in the national security than the defence personnel. So now that the government is coming up with the vibrant village programme, and the roads are being made, like my constituency double lane work is going on and internet connectivity is being pushed in a very rigorous way. So I am hopeful that this will give lot of impetus to the national security.”
On the recent crisis in Manipur the Arunachal Pradesh Speaker said, “It is very sad and unfortunate incident what had happened in Manipur. I will say peace should prevail, everyone should live in harmony because we all are human being. We all are brothers and sisters, there should be one race that is human race and one religion that is humanity. This is my appeal to everyone.
