Agartala, June 3: The controversial BJP leader Manik Das who was arrested on charge of attack on party leaders and supporters removed from his party post- vice president of SC Morcha on Saturday.
“Manik Das, the vice president of BJP’s SC Morcha of Belonia has been removed from the post for anti party activities untill further order”, Tutan Das, SC Morcha state president Tutan Das said.
In the one-line removal letter, the SC Morcha state president has not mentioned the exact reasons for this drastic action but it appears the state leadership was upset over the activities of Manik Das alias Kala Manik.
It has been alleged ‘Kala Manik’ had sabotaged against the party’s official canidate in Belonia Assembly seat in the Februray elections.
Recenlty, he had attacked booth president of Belonia Assembly constituency and his family and threatened of dire consequence in future.
The victim has lodged specific FIR against ‘Kala Manik’ and based on the complaint, he was arrested by the police. Now, the controversial ruling party leader is in judicial custody.
