Under the G20 Summit, Civilian20 or C20 National Conference Tripura was organized in Agartala on Tuesday.
The conference organized by Chinmaya Mission, Chennai aimed at provides a platform for civil society organisations around the world to voice people’s aspirations to the world leaders in G20.
The topic discussed at the conference was on the age-old Indian wisdom of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ through Ethics, Education, Ecology’.
The event was inaugurated by former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura Jishnu Dev Varma who addressed the gathering of spiritual leaders, academicians, students, and members of civil society.
While speaking on ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ he viewed – One Earth, One Family, and One Future as he cited the example of the recent pandemic which affected the entire globe.
Dev Varma emphasized that today again the whole world forgetting their geopolitical barriers have to jointly fight against the climate change and resume the lost ecology.
He added that the ecology has been disturbed destroyed due to its unethical misuse and which can be only mitigated by educating the global population in the right direction.
Swami Mitrananda, who represent the organized, quoted Indian Upnishads and stressed the significance of religious texts and books that have been a source of knowledge and awakening, giving the message of Vasudeva Kutumbhkam.
He added that C20 is one of the official Engagement Groups of the G20 and consist of civil society of 20 nations and the conference is an opportunity in involving civilians around the world to voice the people’s aspirations to the world leaders in G20 for drafting a policy.
Other speakers discussed on various other topics as they emphasized that human society needs to realized the oneness of existence and viewed that global solidarity is required to find and implement solutions to current world problems.
