Agartala April 17: Chief Justice of Tripura High Court appointed after 46 long days. Aparesh Kumar Singh was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the High Court. And Justice Apresh Kumar Singh became the Chief Justice. The oath-taking ceremony began at Raj Bhavan on Monday at 11 am with the playing of the national anthem.
Governor Satyadeo Narayan Arya administered the oath. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Ministers Pranajit Singh Roy, Ratan Lal Nath, Tinku Roy and others were also present at the oath taking ceremony. The Chief Minister congratulated the Chief Justice by opening a wreath on this day. Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh served as the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court. President Draupadi Murmu signed her appointment letter. Supreme Court Chief Justice D.Y. The collegium headed by Chandrachud had earlier recommended the name of Aparesh Kumar Singh for the post of Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court.
On February 7, the collegium of the Supreme Court recommended the name of Jharkhand High Court Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh for the post of Chief Justice of Tripura High Court after the retirement of Justice Jaswant Singh. But even though he retired from the post of Chief Justice of Tripura High Court on February 23 after serving for only 8 days, the Supreme Court collegium’s recommendations have not been implemented. As a result, the Tripura High Court was suffering from Chief Justice crisis for the past 46 days. Finally, the Supreme Court collegium’s recommendations came into effect, and relief was noticed among the lawyers of the state, as well as judicial aspirants. Because in order to resolve the Chief Justice crisis in the State High Court, the lawyers working for the intervention of the Chief Justice of the country were asked for by letters. All the lawyers present at the event feel that after the appointment of the Chief Justice, the pace of work will be accelerated in the Tripura High Court.
