Agartala April 14: The birth anniversary of Constitution maker Dr BR Ambedkar is celebrated in the state with public and private initiatives. It was on this day that a plan was taken to install Ambedkar’s statue on the initiative of the Tripura Scheduled Caste Welfare Department. The statue will sit in the assembly complex. The foundation stone of this statue was laid on Friday.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Scheduled Castes Welfare Department Minister Sudhanshu Das, Assembly Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Pal, Chief Secretary Kalyani Roy and others were present. This statue will be built at a cost of around 50 lakhs. The total length will be 18 feet. Laying the foundation stone of the statue, the Chief Minister said that all the work of the government is done keeping in mind the constitution made by Ambedkar. The statue is being installed to honor Ambedkar. Chief Minister said Ambedkar is an institution. In about 3 months, the statue of Constitution maker Baba Saheb Ambedkar will be erected between the Vidhan Sabha and Mahakaran.
