Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday gave a surprise visit to the Indira Gandhi Memorial hospital in capital Agartala to inspect the services and treatment facilities. He along with the Health Secretary Dr Debasish Basu, Health Director and other senior officials of the department visited various wards, OPD and interacted with the doctors, nurses and other medical staff and expressed his satisfaction on the service being provided. He said that the state government is developing the health infrastructure across the state including the district, subdivision, PHC and CHC so that referrals can be reduced and by providing better health services at the doorstep every in the remote areas. The CM added that the government has plan to to set AIMS in the state and for which there are persuasion with New Delhi. He added that if not if not then AIMS then hospitals at least of the level of RIMS or NEIGRIHMS would be setup in the state in the future. Saha who is also the Health Minister of the state added that like him other Ministers in his cabinet are also visiting various offices under their respective departments and inspecting the functioning as it impacts towards improving the quality of services and also keeps the staff alert.
