In last two years, we recruited 14000 new personnel into the police force. Next year, we are recruiting another 6000 personnel into the police force. Though this process, Assam police will have zero vacancies – we are aiming to achieve that by May.
We are working for technological upgradation, inspired by the vision of HM SHAH. We are also working at honing the skills of personnel – both traditional as well as new. We have recently created five new commando battalions. Crime rate is also reducing drastically. We are fighting a war against drugs successfully. Law and order is under total control, and even number of agitations is coming down. So all these indicates a new prosperous Assam.
When there is a limited police force available, a police personnel has to work beyond his or her duty hours. Now, recruitment drives will restore a healthy balance between duty and rest.
We are also getting a lot of educated police jawans because the recruitment process was transparent. They will be fit for the technical skills required. We are heading towards a golden era so far as Assam Police is concerned.
