From March 20 to March 28, the Chief Minister Healthy Childhood-Healthy Adolescent Abhiyan 4.0 will be celebrated across the state. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will inaugurate it on March 18 at Dakshini Town Hall of South Tripura District. He said that Tripura government has launched this special campaign in September 2021 with the aim of proper implementation of public health program for children and adolescents. Intestinal worm infections, vitamin A deficiency, childhood diarrhea and iron and folic acid deficiency are a concern for human health. These deficiencies hinder the child’s nutritional intake and the child or adolescent suffers from malnutrition and anemia. Besides this, their physical and mental development is disrupted. CM Healthy Childhood-Healthy Adolescent Campaign 4.0 to keep children and adolescents healthy, develop their nutritional, physical and cognitive abilities.
About 12 lakh children and adolescents between the ages of zero and nineteen will be given medicine through this campaign. Medicines will be distributed through schools, Anganwadi Centers and door-to-door campaigns as per administrative rules. From March 24 to March 28, Asha, Anganwadi, MPW and ANM workers went door to door to children and adolescents who did not take deworming medicine, vitamin A supplements, ORS, zinc tablets and other medicines in schools and Anganari centers. Those children will be given medicine. TD-10 and TD-16 will be taught to boys and girls in schools and nearby health centers by MPWs, ANM workers and Community Health Officers. He also said that 11 lakh 8 thousand boys and some girls between the ages of 1 to 19 years will be given deworming medicine during the deworming day program. 240,000 boys and girls between the ages of nine months to five years will be given vitamin A supplements in the vitamin A supplementation programme.
Iron acid tablets will be given to 4 lakh 13 thousand children in the age group of 10 to 19 years of the state under Iron Folic Acid programme. ORS and zinc tablets will be distributed to 2 lakh 92 thousand boys and girls aged zero to five years to prevent diarrhoea. Nutritional status of 3 lakh 1 thousand boys and girls aged 0 to 6 years will be determined by measuring the weight and height of the nutrition campaign. He said that they will be kept under regular observation. He also said that 16 thousand 595 boys and girls of the age of 10 years and 40 thousand 23 teenagers of the age of 16 years will be given TD-16. ASHA and Anganwadi workers will compile a list of pregnant women below the age of 19 across the state to prevent child marriage and teenage pregnancy. Health and Family Welfare Department, School Education Department, Higher Education Department and Social Welfare and Social Education Department will implement Chief Minister Healthy Childhood Healthy Adolescence 4.0 initiative, Adhikar said.
