The Election Commission has to take responsibility so that every citizen can exercise his democratic rights by going to the polling station. MP Brinda Karat said this while addressing an election meeting in Golchakkar area in support of Left Front and Congress-backed independent candidate Purushottam Roy Barman in 7 Ramnagar assembly constituency on Wednesday.
The double engine government has worked to destroy the atmosphere of peace in Tripura. Double engine means double engine exploitation, double loot, double engine attack. So there is only one voice across the state to vote out BJP from Tripura on February 16. So the state’s democratic parties have come together to fight against the BJP. And BJP will be defeated from Tripura by putting aside their divisions, said Binda Karat. He also said that it is not for their own interest to defeat the BJP. Democratic parties are determined to defeat the BJP to protect the country’s democracy and constitution. Therefore, Binda Karat expressed his opinion that the upcoming elections are the way to protect the constitution and democracy in the whole country. BJP came to power by making false promises to the people of the state. Jobs are not getting through missed calls.
He also said that REGA promised to give 200 days of work but did not give more than 40 days of work. And those who are working for 40 days are not getting wages. BJP had announced the seventh pay commission in Tripura. But it has been seen that they have fired 11,000 employees in five years after coming to the government. On this day, Brinda Karat discussed the promises of 23 Left Front and said that 10,323 dismissed teachers will be reinstated after the government is established. Names of those whose names have been cut off from the social allowance list will be re-included. Apart from this, the new pension scheme is promised to be withdrawn and the old pension scheme will be introduced. Apart from this, 200 days job guarantee has been given for REGA workers. And to fulfill these promises, first of all, we need all our votes to cast ourselves. Besides, he told the Election Commission that drama will not continue. It is the responsibility of every citizen to exercise his democratic rights by going to the polls. Brinda Karat also said that if someone threatens to go to vote, they will immediately tell the leaders. Then action will be taken. CPIM West District Committee Secretary Ratan Das, nominated candidates and others were also present in the organized meeting.
