Agartala: Feb 05: Six injured in clash between CPI(M), Congress and BJP. Two people were shifted to GB Hospital in critical condition. Miscreants vandalized six bikes and set fire to one bike. The incident brought the situation to a standstill in Sonatala Bazar of Khowai assembly constituency. A large number of security guards have been deployed at the spot.
According to the details of the incident, there was a road meeting of the CPI(M) party in Sonatala Bazar of 25 Khowai assembly constituency till 8:30 pm on Saturday.
Several leaders spoke at that road meeting. It is alleged that several youths started abusing the participants of the road meeting in the last stage of the road meeting. After that, a verbal altercation started between the opposition parties CPIM and Congress party and another group of youths who participated in the road meeting. The next period took the form of a bloody conflict. In a moment the area was deserted. Excited youths started beating each other. A total of six people were bloody injured in the random attack by the youth. Out of these 6 people, two were shifted to GB Hospital in critical condition. The remaining four are under treatment at Khowai District Hospital. The situation in the area came to a standstill. Additional security forces have been deployed. Six bikes were vandalized in the attack. A bike catches fire. The 6 injured are Jagatjyoti Das, Chanu Das, Vipul Saha, Alak Pal, Sukhen Das and Khokon Roy. Sukhen Das and Khokon Roy were shifted to GB Hospital. Police have started investigation into the incident.
