Agartala, Feb 04: Major beneficiary of the five years long BJP rule has been the government employees and officers as evident by the comparative study of the salary and allowance structure of before March 2018 and January 2023.
Taking a generous view of the financial woes faced by the employees, the new Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha sanctioned two consecutive installments of Dearness Allowance by five percent and a whopping 12 percent.
According to available information, the salary of the employees of different levels has been hiked between a range of 37 to 94 percent.
The biggest hike was recorded for the casual workers who used to get Rs 5,150 per month which has increased to Rs 10,000.
The Group D employees have also reaped rich dividends as their salary was raised by 37 percent. In March 2018, they used to get Rs 23,150 which increased up to Rs 31,700. For Group C employees, the salary was increased by 45 percent as a result those who used to get Rs. 34,600 per month are now getting 50,200. Similarly, the salary of Group B employees also increased from Rs 58,600 to Rs 89,150.
The Group A officers who used to get below rupees one lakh are now drawing a whopping salary of Rs 1,33,700 per month.
The comparison makes it clear that the government led by Dr Manik Saha played a crucial role in improving the financial condition of the state government employees.
Apart from that, as soon as Dr. Saha took charge of the office, he played an instrumental role in resolving some perennial issues causing resentment among the government officials. For instance, the medical officers of the state have hailed Dr Saha’s approach of creating separate grades for the doctors serving the state government hospitals.
Tripura altogether has 1.88 lakh government employees.
