Agartala: Jan 18: IPFT has responded to the call of Tipra Matha supremo and MDC Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman to unite. Party president and Minister Prem Kumar Reang has sent a letter expressing his interest in fixing a date for the discussion.
On January 13, late Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman handed over the letter to IPFT general secretary Aghor Debbarma. In the letter, he suggested to the IPFT, let’s unite to survive and survive. IPFT and Tipra together raise voice for Tipraland or Greater Tipraland.
Pradyot wrote in the letter, IPFT has been agitating since 2009 for the formation of a separate state (Tipraland) in the ADC area under Articles 2, 3 and 4 of the Constitution of India. The Tipra Matha likewise staked a claim to Greater Tipraland.
There is not much fundamental difference between the claims of Tipraland and Greater Tipraland. Both are seeking a permanent constitutional solution for the people of Tripura. Therefore, the claim must be kept alive, he pleaded.
He felt that the need of the hour to protect the survival and existence of the people has enough justification for this demand and we should give priority to the struggle to fulfill this demand. He appealed, unite and join the fight for the nation. In that, claim collection will be possible. The future of the nation can be secured.
Responding to that request, IPFT President has written to Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman today. We also agree with your proposal to unite Tipra Matha and IPFT, he wrote in the letter because, that step is very important to protect the existence and rights of the people by fulfilling the demands of Tipraland and Greater Tipraland. IPFT President today welcomed the proposal of Pradyot and requested to fix the date for the discussion very soon. It can be assumed that the merger of Tipra Matha and IPFT is only a matter of time.
