Agartala: Jan 18: The National Election Commission has announced the election date. Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar from the Delhi Election Commission held a press conference and announced this date at 2.30 pm on Wednesday. On February 16, assembly polls will be held in 60 constituencies of Tripura state. Gazette notification will be issued on 21 January.
The process of collecting and submitting nomination papers will start from that day. Last date for submission of nominations is January 30. Scrutiny of nomination papers on January 31. Last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is February 2. After the polls on February 16, counting and results were announced on March 2. At the same time, the National Election Commission announced the dates for Meghalaya and Nagaland Assembly. Meghalaya and Nagaland Legislative Assembly Gazette Notification will be issued on January 31. The process of collecting and submitting nomination papers will start from that day. The last date for submission of nominations is February 7. Scrutiny of nomination papers on February 8. The last day for withdrawal of nomination papers is February 10.
Voting will be held on February 27, counting of votes and declaration of results on March 2. National Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar told a press conference in Delhi on Wednesday. On this day, the election commission announced the date of bye-elections in several states. The National Election Commissioner reiterated that the Election Commission is responsible for conducting the elections in a fair, free, peaceful and fear-free environment. He also clarified that necessary instructions have been given to all the states.
