Agartala: Jan 17: Towards improving the health services especially in the remote areas and to provide it at doorstep the administration of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council launched Swaasth Vahan or mobile health clinics on Tuesday.
Executive Member of TTAADC Pradyot Kishore Debbarma flagged off three mobile health clinics today in presence CEM Purno Chandra Reang, EM Health Kamal Kaloi, CEO CK Jamatia, and other senior executives and leaders of TIPRA Motha during a program from the royal palace in Agartala.
Speaking to reporters Debbarma, also the TIPRA Motha chairman, said that the initiative has been launched so that poor people of the remote areas of state need not suffer or travel long distances and huge expenses for availing health care services rather it is at their doorstep.
The mobile medical units have been designed in collaboration and suggestions of the Apollo hospital which jointly operates the Khiringba hospital at TTAADC headquarters at Khumulwng.
The mobile units are not only equipped with the latest medical equipments but a doctor, nurse and technician will also be there so that the patients get immediate diagnosis and treatment along with free medication.
The mobile van has facilities for detection of cervical cancer, ECG for cardiac patients, eye testing, blood sugar testing beside blood test for malaria and dengue.
Moreover, the mobile van also have satellite link connectivity facilities for direct connection with the Apollo centers across the country and sitting at the remote areas can be directly consult with the available best and specialist doctors of Apollo hospital at Chennai and Hyderabad and if necessary these units can also transport patients like ambulances.
With two similar vehicles which were launched in the recent past, all total TTAADC has started five such mobile units and a total cost of around one crore which the TTAADC administration has taken as loan from the Tripura Gramin bank.
