Agartala: Jan: People have become active against addiction. Locals arrested two drug dealers with brown sugar in the area adjacent to Sanchirambari Park in Shantirbazar subdivision in South Tripura district. Both were handed over to the police by local people.
Today, the residents of the area adjacent to Sanchirambari Park arrested two youths with 76 kota of brown sugar and 195 empty kota. On receiving the information, the police of Baikhora police station rushed and took both of them into custody. According to the police, the two arrested youths have been identified as Pemendra Reang, a resident of Devipur in Shantirbazar subdivision and Hamilton Reang, a resident of Birchandra Manu. The police have registered a case against them. Tomorrow they will be handed over to the court for police remand. Baikhora Police Station OC Vishnu Chandra Das said that strict action will be taken against drug dealers. Today, the market value of recovered drugs will be Rs 15 to 20 thousand.
