Agartala: Jan 14: Tipra Matha supremo and MDC Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman do not want to divide votes against BJP in Tripura. However, he is seeking a written commitment in support of Greater Tipraland in agreeing to share seats with the CPM and Congress. Pradyot will participate in public meeting in Khumuluwng on January 16. He said that he will start talks with CPM after that.
Today, he said, CPM and Congress have started discussions on seat sharing in the upcoming assembly elections. They have also given a message to Tipra Matha to stand by. But, Tipra Matha would not make any compromises unless a written commitment was made in support of Greater Tipraland. He claimed that he could not deceive the people. Not greedy for money or power. Just want to live with reputation.
According to him, the CPM and Congress have not yet taken a final decision on seat raffling. How many seats they will fight, will be considered after finalization. He claimed that he does not want to divide votes against BJP. In this regard, I will start discussions with the CPM after the public meeting in Khumuluwng on January 16. Meanwhile, CPM State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury said that Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman is currently outside Tripura. He has been requested for discussion. He expressed hope that after coming to Agartala, there will be a discussion on this issue.
