Agartala: Jan 12: Tripurasundari Express met with an accident in Tripura. The Agartala-bound train from Delhi hit a concrete mixing vehicle (JCB) near Jawaharnagar station in Dhalai district. The JCB car got twisted. JCB driver and co-driver were injured. However, all passengers of the train are safe. However, it took five hours to restore normal train movement as a result of the accident.
Incidentally, the construction of the railway overbridge at Jawaharnagar station has been going on for a few days now. Tripura Sundari Express on its way from Jawaharnagar station to Ambassa at around 9:30 am suddenly ran over the JCBT railway line. The JCB driver tried hard to move the machine from the rail line. But, in the end, the JCB was crushed by the train. As a result, the engine of the train was severely damaged. The JCB driver and co-driver were injured. However, all passengers of the train are safe.
The local police along with the Railway Protection Force rushed to the news of the accident. The injured driver was taken to the hospital. The people of the neighborhood rushed to the news of the train accident. The fire brigade was informed. Finally at around 3 o’clock another engine was brought and the train left for Agartala.
