Agartala: Jan 12: The affected 10,323 teachers’ association called off the temporary hunger strike after 85 days on Thursday due to financial shortage. The stage was temporarily set up with decorators. But the famine reached such extreme levels that the hunger strike had to end in 85 days. However, on this day, they made it clear that they are not satisfied with the current action of the government because the government has already formed an advisory committee with them. But they are looking forward to the final cabinet meeting of the government.
10,323 made it clear that even though the hunger strike was broken up, they would wait under the open sky for the Cabinet’s final budget on January 14. The cabinet members are hopeful that the government will take a final decision about them in this meeting. On this day, the leader of the organization, Pradip Banik, also said that the government has understood that everyone has lost their jobs. The government could have taken a final decision about them earlier if it wanted. Although the government has not come to any decision, they are suffering from extreme disappointment. But they will wait under the open sky at the same place till January 14, he said. He also said that their financial lack has reached an extreme. They are not able to organize the stage and sit on the hunger stage. So it has already been decided to wrap up the stage. The agitating dismissed teachers are hopeful that the government will take a final decision on them. But wait for time. It is now to be seen whether the government will come to any final decision after the passage of the assembly, or wait for the report of the committee till next March.
