Agartala: Jan 11: Earlier in the final cabinet meeting, the government demanded the department to increase the salaries of 27 computer literate LDC-contracted employees associated with the Prime Minister’s Poshan Shakti Nirman project. They said that a deputation was given to the education director on Wednesday demanding salary increase.
In November 2012, 27 computer literates were appointed as contract employees on LDC-post under the mid-day meal scheme under the Department of Education. At that time the minimum salary was Rs.6350. Salary increases slightly after 5 years. But during this period the salary of the contractual employees under the Education Department has been greatly increased. But they are still getting salary of 15,262 taka after working for 11 years. Therefore, these contractual employees applied to the state government for a humanitarian increase in salary. They said that it has become difficult to support their family with the current salary. The education director said the file has been sent. The matter is under consideration. According to them, after six years and seven months ago, their salary was increased by only 1526 rupees. These contractual employees demanded to be paid according to the LDC scale.
