Agartala: Jan 10: The BJP government in Tripura has laid the foundation for development in four and a half years. His results will be seen in the next five years. This was said by Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju in a public meeting organized on the occasion of BJP’s public trust march at Charilam in Sipahijla district in Tripura today. According to him, the North-East region has been neglected in various ways during the Congress rule in the country. Development in the region has gained momentum since Narendra Modi took over as Prime Minister in 2014.
On this day, he said that he never dreamed that BJP would be established in the North-East region because Congress was ruling everywhere and CPM was ruling in Tripura. But, with the change of government at the center in 2014, the fortunes of the North-East also started to change. Similarly, there is no change in Tripura in the last four and a half years, he said with conviction.
According to him, the BJP has cried out for the development of the North-East during its opposition in Parliament, raised voice inside and outside the Parliament. But, as the representation of the North-Eastern region in the Parliament was very little, the Central Ruler did not listen to our voice. They did not pay attention to us. But, now under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Northeast region is moving faster than the rest of the country.
He claimed that after the change of government at the center in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made it clear in the first meeting of the cabinet that the country will progress only if the North-Eastern region moves forward so all the projects were first ordered to be implemented in the North-East region. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been working tirelessly to take the North East forward, he said in no uncertain terms.
The Union Law Minister said in a tone of anger that in the past, the North-East region was known for extremism. Tourists were afraid to visit this region. But, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, extremism has come to an end. He also added that the change of government in Tripura has led to a permanent solution to the more than two-decade-old Bru refugee problem with the central and state governments.
He strongly said today that the foundation of development has been laid in Tripura in four and a half years. Its results will be seen in the next five years. Tripura will also reach the pinnacle of development with the combination of central and state governments.
