Agartala: Dec 31: All qualified Selection Test for Graduate Teachers (STGT) of the year 2022 agitated in front of the house of Tripura’s Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on their lone demand for recruitment of all qualified candidates together.
They said that during last more than three month they have been meeting various Ministers including the Deputy Chief Minister and Finance, Youth Affairs and Sports and the Education Minister on their demand but till now they did not receive any response from the government. They added that several times they had tried to meet the CM and at lest six times had official correspondence with the CMO for an appointment but got no reply and so today again they had gathered for an appointment.
Later a delegation of the qualified STGT teachers meets with the CM at his official residence and expressed their satisfaction regarding the meeting. They informed that the CM had given a patient hearing to their issue and regarding which he was not much aware.
Moreover, the CM assured them that today itself he will be discussing about it with the Education Minister and likely to take some positive step to resolve it. Many of the agitators may soon get overage and shall no more be illegible to apply for any government job if they are not recruited soon.
Again many of them are from very poor families and completed their education including BEd qualifications after selling their properties or taking educational loans and are now under pressure.
Accordingly to a RTI reply which they procured and from which came to know that at present there are some 5304 vacant graduate teachers post in various schools across the state and so if the government want then can recruit all of them together as there around 1500 qualified STGT candidate.
