Agartala: Dec 28: Keeping its doors open for all political parties ruling and opposition, TIPRA Motha senior leader and Deputy Chief Executive Member of TTAADC Animesh Debbarma on Wednesday retreated that any party that gives its commitment to the demand for separate tribal state – Greater Tipraland it is ready to form poll alliance.
TIPRA Motha which is in power in the Autonomous District Council is considered the main tribal party in the state at present and considered as the kingmaker as 20 out of the 60 assembly seats are tribal reserved and the party has huge support base in those seats and also determining factor in at least six others constituencies.
Addressing a press conference in Agartala Wednesday evening Debbarma speaking on the issue of a forming an anti-BJP joint platform said, “We have only one agenda that is Greater Tipraland and constitutional solution for the Tiprasa people living in the ADC and non ADC boundary. Until this issue is resolved we are not going to form any type of alliance with anyone but it is not so that we don’t protest the violence created or done by the BJP government. We protest but without forming the platform also we can be with them. Wherever CPIM or Congress leaders are attacked, we always protest so platform is not required. Now the question is who all want to form platform with TIPRA Motha on the issue of Greater Tipraland is more important to TIPRA Motha rather than only combating BJP forces. That without forces also we can combat them.”
However, he assured that BJP will face tough challenges in the coming election because BJP failed to keep its 2018 commitment and moreover, during the recent public rally of PM Modi he did not speak a single word on the previous assurances and with which BJP came to power and this is frustrating the people of Tripura and which will be reflected in the ballot boxes.
