Agartala: Dec 27: Trinamool Congress is not in favour of forming any anti BJP democratic platform especially of the opposition parties in Tripura to resist the violence of the ruling party viewed the party’s state president Pijush Kanti Biswas.
He added that until there is consensus over some common minimum programme and seat sharing among the opposition parties such initiatives for forming united platforms makes no impact especially as the assembly election is very close because ultimately if these parties are again going to fight against each other it shall only add to the advantage for the ruling BJP party as the opposition vote is going to gets divided.
Biswas claimed that discussion has been going on with the likeminded party to forge an electoral alliance to defeat the BJP in the upcoming assembly polls.
Reacting to the 12% hike in DA of government employees and which was declared by the CM today the TMC state president said that the government employees were suppose to get the 7th Pay Commission and until that is declared the employees shall remain deprived.
Moreover, he added that as the government employees will get 12% hikes there will be uncontrolled inflation and so ultimately will not be benefiting much.
On the day the Biswas also informed that during the first week of the coming new year TMC supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is going to visit Tripura.
He added that Mamata Banerjee is likely to visit Meghalaya on coming January 7 and on the same day she will arriving to Agartala with her nephew Abhishek Banerjee who is the national general secretary of the party.
Biswas said that in Agartala she has an interaction with the TMC office bearers at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan beside a press conference and a visit to Mata Tripurasundari temple before returning to Kolkata on the same day.
Some party leaders and members belonging to the CPI-M, BJP and the TIPRA have joined the TMC on Tuesday.
