Agartala: Dec 25: Rape accused arrested after 7 years. In 2015, the accused in a rape case was arrested from Meghalaya by Kamalpur police station. According to the details of the incident, Ajit Debbarma and his brother Lenojit Debbarma of Duraichhara Shyamrai Para area under Kamalpur police station organized a rape incident.
A case was registered against them in Kamalpur Police Station under Case No. ST (T-1)36 of 2018U/S-457/376(D)/506 of IPC. Among them, Lenojit was caught earlier but Ajit escapes from the area. Later, the police have information that he was working in a restaurant under Yuai Police Station in West Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya. Then the police contacted the SP of Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya. Similarly, police of Kamalpur police station went and arrested him on Saturday night with the help of Yuai police station and brought him on Sunday. It is known that he will be surrendered to the court today.
