Tripura got the necessary clearance and permission from the center for setting up the first dental college in the state and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the college on coming December 18 during his Agartal visit informed Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha during a late evening press conference in the secretariat on Thursday.
The college is a dream project of the CM who himself is a renowned maxillofacial surgery and was teaching as a professor in a medical college here before joining politics.
The name of the new college will be Agartala Government Dental College and IGM Hospital, which is going to start in the new building of IGM hospital in Agartala and for which infrastructure development is underway.
The addition of the new college will be an added feather in the health infrastructure of the state
At present there are two medical colleges in the state and one more is in the pipeline.
