Agartala: Dec 13: High quality error free development data is the foundation for meaningful policy-making, efficient resource allocation, effective public service delivery and driving to decision making for any nation.
Towards achieving this Directorate of Economics & Statistics of Tripura organized a one day state level workshop at Pragna Bhaban on Tuesday titled “Users of Data and other Stakeholders for review of existing Statistical Products and for identification of new Statistical Products in Tripura”.
The workshop was inaugurated by Mohd Zubair Ali Hashmi, Secretary, Planning (Statistics) Department of Tripura, Chiranjib Ghosh, Joint Director, Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Arup Kr. Chanda, Additional Director, Directorate of Economics & Statistics and other dignitaries in presence of senior officials of various line departments.
The workshop aims at enabling users of data and other stakeholders for review of exiting statistical products and for identification of new statistical products in Tripura.Again, the users specially the government officials understand different statistical product and shall be able to use these statistical products for better delivery of service to the general public.
During the work shop tablets were distributed among field functionaries of the Data Encryption Standard (DES) as the department has a plan for configuring a real-time data dashboard which can immediately display vital information when a question comes in and helps to know what’s going on at a glance.
Moreover, the real-time data shall also improves public service schemes and improves operational efficiency and the directorate of Economics & Statistics is working to achieve all these by use of modern technology in different survey under the on-going central scheme Support for Statistical Strengthening (SSS) and for improving statistical operations, especially those supporting the cause of improvement in the quality and dissemination of statistical data.
