Agartala: Nov 29: Like the rest of the country, there is no democracy in the state of Tripura, lack of employment, skyrocketing prices of goods. The government does not want to hear these problems from the common people. If people protest injustice, they have to be attacked. So these are to draw the attention of the government and to solve the problems of the common people Bharat Juro, Tripura Bachao Yatra was started from November 19 by the Pradesh Congress and ended on November 28.
About 10,000 pada yatris circumambulated about 1,400 km of roads in 60 assembly constituencies of the state. The target of the Pradesh Congress was to march 1200 km. In the end it can be seen that about 1400 km of padyatra has been done. From the hills to the plains, the Congress workers and supporters roamed the streets. People welcomed Congress. The message of Congress has been conveyed to the people. After the completion of the Pradesh Congress Bharat Juro, Save Tripura Yatra, this was said by the Chairman of the Padayatra and Congress MLA Sudeep Roy Barman in a press conference at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan on Tuesday. He also said that the general people welcomed the All India Tripura Bachao Jatra of the Congress. During the pada yatra, there were various talks with the pada yatris and common people. The government is not listening to the words of the common people.
Sudip Roy Barman also said that the government was supposed to set up AIIMS in the state. There were supposed to be two AIIMS. But not even an AIIMS yet. Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman complained that common people have to spend money like private hospitals while receiving medical services in government hospitals. He asked the government how much progress has been made in the work that was promised to build this hospital in Tripura state. More questions – An IT hub will be set up on Old Jail Road for the unemployed youth of the state, he asked the government about the progress of that work.
More questions were raised as to how progress has been made on the promised Tripura buildings in Rajasthan’s Cutta, Bangalore and Mumbai. The students came out on a march demanding Tripura University to resume distance education courses and to stop extortion of Rs 1,000 through the Vidyajyoti scheme. Meanwhile, during the padayatra in Battala area of the capital, traders who were evicted by the corporation came and demanded the government’s rehabilitation and asked the Congress to draw its attention.
“Congress supports the TIPRA Motha demand for announcement in Kokborok in the MBB airport in Agartala”, said Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barmman in a press conference held at Congress Bhawan today. He further said, “In fact Congress in the last assembly session had demand for looking into two report already with the government on what should be the script of Kokborok but this government is not serious about it”.
Besides, MLA Sudip Roy Barman brought up the current government’s attitude towards the media and said that journalists are not able to reveal the truth. Since the establishment of the government, 47 journalists have already been attacked in the state. Two journalists were killed during the previous government. The word of judgment weeps in silence. The promise made by the CBI to arrest the accused has not been fulfilled even today. People from every section of the society are suffering from this situation. So every person has assured to stand by the Congress. He said that the Congress was satisfied with the unprecedented assurance of the people.
In the press conference organized on this day, All India Editor Szarita Laitphlangsaid that Bharatiya Janata Party is spreading false propaganda against Pradesh Congress President Birjit Sinha saying that he is going to change the party. He said it was completely false. Former MLA Ashish Kumar Saha was also present at the press conference today.
