Agartala: Nov 17: A review meeting for the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission was held at Pragya Bhavan in the capital under the chairmanship of Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Thursday. The meeting was attended by the Director of DWS Office, Engineers and SDOs. At the beginning of the review meeting on this day, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury welcomed the new secretary of the office, Abhishek Singh and others who have come to the office as newly transferred.
Apart from this, the outgoing secretary of the department, Kiran Gitte, thanked the other outgoing staff. Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that the work of Jal Jeevan Mission has progressed so far due to the contribution of outgoing staff including the outgoing secretary of the department. Minister Sushanta Chowdhury expressed the hope that the new transferees in the office will take forward the work of Jal Jeevan Mission at a fast pace in the coming days. Necessary instructions have been given to the officials of the department to overcome the problems or challenges in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission project and complete the project within the stipulated time.
He also said that whatever assistance is needed from the top level will be done. Necessary water connection should be delivered to almost all the families in the state by next December. Due to the delay in the tender process, the concerned agencies could not start the project work on time. In the meeting, instructions have been given to speed up the implementation of the tender process, he said.
