Agartala: Nov 15: The police of West police station arrested five people after investigating the robbery case. One of them is an employee of the education department. On September 23 this year, a robbery took place in Jayanagar area of the capital. After the incident, the woman filed a case at West Police Station.
The police raided on Monday night on a tip-off in plain clothes. Finally late at night two people named Amrit Roy and Sagar Nama were arrested. Until Tuesday morning, the police netted a total of 5 people. The gold ornaments of two robberies were recovered. They were given loans to private gold finance. Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer said, they used to steal women necklaces and sell them. Others took loans from Gold Finance to buy those items. Among those arrested, Mintu Das works at Barajala School. Along with him, two robbers used to borrow gold ornaments from private gold loan institutions. Police have arrested 5 people from the entire gang they interrogating them. Sub-division police officer said, the police remand application will be submitted to the court.
