Agartala: Nov 13: The water ATM service installed by Smart City has come to a standstill in GB Hospital. Departments concerned are indifferent, intense anger among the patient’s family. Noted that the main referral hospital of the state is GB, every day hundreds of patients flock to this hospital from different districts of the state for better services.
Water ATMs have been installed in GB Hospital premises by ONGC and Smart City Project so that the patients and their families who come to the hospital do not have any problem with water. Now all those water ATMs are useless. As a result, the patients under treatment in the hospital and their families are constantly facing problems for drinking water. Family members of patients undergoing treatment at GB Hospital said water ATMs were fine for a few days after installation. Then the water ATMs broke down. Water ATMs have been malfunctioning for a long time. As a result there is constant problem for water. The family of the patient has to buy a bottle of water for 20 rupees from the shop for 25 rupees. So everyone demands that these water ATMs be repaired. However, questions have been raised as to why no initiative is being taken to refurbish water ATMs in hospitals after they have been in disrepair for a long time. Due to the indifference of the officials of the concerned department, the financial cost of many patients and families is a lot of money every day.
