Assembly elections 2023 may be held in the 60 assembly constituencies of the state in the third week of next February and counting of votes will be completed by the last week of February. The chief election officer Kiran Gitte indicated this in a press conference at the secretariat on Wednesday.
A draft of voter list of 60 assembly constituencies of the state was published on this day. Out of which the number of male voters is 1380181, the number of female voters is 1353664 and the number of third gender voters is 46. All in all a total of 2733891 people, besides, the number of men in the list of service voters is 10165; the number of women is 184. In all total 10349 voters.
Besides, there are 44830 voters in the list of voters above 80 years and 14671 voters in the list of voters with disabilities or physical disabilities.
Note that from today i.e. November 9, 2022 to December 8, 2022, voters can apply for inclusion or removal of names. This application can be done online through form filling. Application review work will continue from December 8 to December 26. After that, the final voter list will be published on January 5, 2023 as per the instructions of the Election Commission.
Also on the day, Chief Election Officer Kiran Gitte revealed several facts regarding the voter list– Among the 60 assembly constituencies of the state, 8 Badharghat assembly constituency has the highest number of voters. There are about 60,000 voters in Badharghat. And Krishnapur assembly constituency has the lowest number of voters. There are 36 thousand voters.
This year, 4 polling stations have been increased and 25 polling stations have been relocated.
