Agartala: Nov 07: The youths who have passed the STGT in 2022 have again protested by surrounding the house and car of the education minister demanding the appointment. They alleged that the government is not taking any initiative to fill the backlog posts of ST candidates. And after a few days, the hour of assembly election will ring. Therefore, STGT passers first met the Education Minister to demand immediate appointment.
On their behalf, the Education Minister was informed that as per the notification of 2016-17, there are many vacant posts. So let all the ST candidates who cleared STGT in 2022 are recruited together. But the education minister told them that there is no such rule in the education department. Again, they demanded that if other departments can do it, why can’t the education department do it. Education Minister clearly stated that it is not possible to provide more jobs. He did not want to say anything about the backlog posts.
After that, the students who passed the STGT staged a protest in front of the education minister’s residence with their demands. Later, after the education minister left the residence and boarded the car, the unemployed youth’s gheraoed the minister’s car and demonstrated. They demanded that the minister answer why the appointment should not be made. But somehow Minister Ratan Lal Nath left the place by car. Police rushed to bring the situation under control. However, the young people who are hoping for a job said that the movement against such a decision of the government will take a bigger shape in the coming days.
