Agartala: Nov 05: The state of Tripura has 16 percent of its population belonging to Other Backward Classes and Minorities. The government is implementing various schemes for them. In particular, the government is giving those opportunities to establish themselves by providing loans for education and employment. And the government is giving importance to how to develop them through various projects in the coming days because the society will progress only with the development of other backward people and minorities. And if the society moves forward, the best Tripura will be developed.
Minister of OBC and Minorities Department Ramprasad Pal said this at Mahakaran’s press conference on Saturday. He said the existence of the loans given to the beneficiaries during the previous government cannot be traced because at that time, the concerned department did not collect the loan within the specified period. But during the tenure of the present government, besides disbursement of loans, collection of days has increased. But the demand for loans is much more. Delhi is having some trouble getting funds. He said that the department is looking at how to solve them quickly. Meanwhile, the official of other backward department Nirmal Adhikari said that 928 people have been supported for treatment from the budget for poor people in the last five years. Rs. 29 lakh 64 thousand have been spent for this. Vidyasagar Social Culture Award for social work has been given to eight people in 2021-22. He said that 1,327 people have been given loans of Tk 43 crore 10 lakh in the last four years. Besides, Dasarath Debvarma, Director of Minorities Department, was present at the press conference.
